To Find : Value of x and y
Solution:
x + y = 36
1/x + 1/y = 1/8
=> x + y = xy/8
=> 36 = xy/8
=> xy = 288
x + y = 36
xy = 288
y = 288/x
=> x + 288/x = 36
=> x² - 36x + 288 = 0
=> (x - 24)(x - 12) = 0
=> x = 24 , x = 12
=> y = 12 , y = 24
as x> y
=> x = 24 and y = 12
