If X is a rational number and You is a irrational number than show that (x+y) is a irattional number? ​

Answer:

Suppose x+y is rational number. Then we know subtraction of two rational is rational again

So as x is rational ,(x+y)-x is rational ,which implies y is rational. And that is contradiction. Hence x+y must be irrational.
