Solution:-

according to the question,

x is add 3,9 and 21

=> (3+x) (9+x) and  (21+x)

if these are in GP

then,

(9+x)^2 =(3+x) (21+x)

=>81+18x+x^2=63+24x+x^2

(both sides x^2 available hence remove this)

=>18x-24x=63-81

=>-6x=-18x

=>x=3
