If x is an acute angle and sin x = cos x . Then find : 2sin^2 x + 1/2 cot^2 x - 3 cos^2 x .

Answer:

since sin x =cos x and x us acute angle

x= 45°

therefore putting x= 45°

=2sin^2 (45°)+ 1/2cot^2 (45°) -3cos^2 (45°)

=2(1/√2)^2 + 1/2(1)^2 - 3(1/√2)

=1 + 1/2 - 3/√2

=(2 + 1 - 3√2)/2

={3(1-√2)}/2
