Answer:

x=ky where k is constant. put the values of x and y, in the following equation

25=k35

k=25/35=5/7

Then the equation becomes

x=(5/7)y

If x=125,

125=(5/7)y

y=125/(5/7)=125×7/5=175

If y=56, then

x=(5/7)56=5×56/7=40

Answer:

a) 5/7

b) 175

c) 40

Step-by-step explanation:

a) \\ y \: is \: always \: a \: constant \: times \: x \:  =  \\  \frac{5}{7}  \\  \\ b)y \: if \: x = 125 \\ 125 =  \frac{5}{7}y \\ y = 125 \times  \frac{7}{5}  \\ y = 25 \times 7 \\ y = 175 \\  \\ c)x \: if \: y \:  = 56 \\ x =  \frac{5}{7}  \times 56 \\ x =  \frac{56}{7}  \times 5 \\ x = 8 \times 5 \\ x = 40
