Given that x = 3 of the equation x² - 2kx - 6 = 0

Substituting the value of x in the equation to get k

3² - 2k×3 - 6 = 0

9 - 6k = 6

6k = 3

k = ½

x^2-2kx-6=0
put x=3 in eq
3^2-2k×3-6=0
9-6k-6=0
-6k=6-9
k=-3/-6
k=1/2 is your ans hope it's help u
