x = 5 - 2 \sqrt{6}  \\  \frac{1}{x}  =  \frac{1}{5 - 2 \sqrt{6} }  \\  \frac{1}{x}  = \frac{1}{(5 - 2 \sqrt{6} )} \times  \frac{(5 + 2 \sqrt{6}) }{(5 + 2 \sqrt{6}) }  \\  \frac{1}{x}  = 5 + 2 \sqrt{6}  \\ now \: x -  \frac{1}{x}  \\  = (5 - 2 \sqrt{6} ) - (5 + 2 \sqrt{6} ) \\  =  - 4 \sqrt{6}
hope it helps

Answer:

x = 5-2√6

find value of x - 1/x

so, putting value of x in x-1/x

==> (5-2√6) - 1/(5-2√6)

==> [(5-2√6)²- 1] / 5-2√6

==> [25+24-20√6-1] / 5-2√6

==> [49-1 - 20√6] / 5-2√6

==> [48-20√6] / 5-2√6

==> BY RATIONALISE

==> 48-20√6 / 5-2√6 × 5+2√6 / 5+2√6

==> (48-20√6)(5+2√6) / (5-2√6)(5+2√6)

==> (240 + 96√6 - 100√6 - 240) / (5)²-(2√6)²

==> -4√6 / 25-24

==> -4√6/1

==> -4/√6
