if x is the arithmetic mean of n observation x1' x2'....'Xn, find the arithmetic mean of ax1 ,ax2,...aXn .

mean of x1 + x2+.....+ xn/n=x                                    ..........(1)

mean of ax1 + ax2 +........+axn/n

            = a(x1 + x2 +.....xn)/n                                         ........(2)
              
             putting eq (1) in eq (2)     

           =  ax
