Answer:

k = ( -3 )

STEP BY STEP EXPLANATION:

( x +3 ) ( x +1 ) = 0

x = ( -3 ) , ( -1 )

CHECK -3 :

(-3)^2 + 4 * -3 + 3 = 0

9 + (-12) + 3 = 0

Therefore LHS = RHS

Therefore , k = -3

GIVEN

If x=k,be a solution of quadratic equation X2+4x+3=0.

To Find

The value of k.

SOLUTION

x = k (given)

According to the question,

=> x^2 + 4x + 3 = 0

Putting k in place lf x,

=> k^2 + 4k + 3 = 0

Splitting the middle term,

=> k^2 + k + 3k + 3 = 0

=> k(k+1) + 3(k+1) = 0

=> (k + 3) (k + 1) = 0

=> k + 3 = 0

=> k = -3

or,

=> k + 1 = 0

=> k = -1

Therefore,

Value of k is -3 or -1.
