  • x = k²

  • y = k

x - 5y + 6 = 0

___________ [GIVEN]

We have to find the value of k.

______________________________

x - 5y + 6 = 0

» Put x = k² and y = k in above equation

=> k² - 5k + 6 = 0

=> k² - 3k - 2k + 6 = 0

=> k(k - 3) - 2(k - 3) = 0

=> (k - 2) (k - 3) = 0

• k - 2 = 0

=> k = 2

• k - 3 = 0

=> k = 3

_____________________________

k = 2 and 3
