If x=log(y), then y is called the antilogarithm of x.

Logarithm and Antilogarithm:

  • Logarithm. a quantity representing the power to which a fixed number (the base) must be raised to produce a given number.

  • Antilogarithm. the number of which a given number is the logarithm.

Here, given x=log(y).

This can be written as

x=log_{e}(y)

where e is the base of natural logarithm.

\Rightarrow y=e^{x} (from the definition of logarithm)

This is antilogarithm.
