Answer:

m = -2 or m = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Given  :

\large \text{$p(x)= 2x^2+5x-m=0 \ and \ x=m$}

We have to find value of m.

Putting x = m in p ( x ) we get

\large \text{$p(x)= 2m^2+5m-m=0 $}\\\\\\\large \text{$p(x)= 2m^2+4m=0$}

Taking 2 m common we get

\large \text{$p(x)= 2m(m+2)=0$}\\\\\\\large \text{$p(x)= (m+2)=0$}

From this we get

2m = 0

m = 0

or

m + 2 = 0

m = -2

Thus we get answer m = - 2 or m = 0.
