∴ x = (√2 + 1)

Multiply and divide by (√2 − 1)
⇒(1/x) = (√2 − 1) / [(√2 + 1)(√2 − 1)]
⇒(1/x) = (√2 − 1) / [2 − 1]
∴ (1/x) = (√2 − 1)
= 2√2
