no.of moles of benzene =1000g/78=13moles      

   y= benzene

(X)Mole fraction =No.of moles of x   /No.of moles of benzene +no.of moles of x

0.4(x+13)=x  

0.4x+5.2=x  

5.2=0.6x

5.2/0.6=x  

x=8.666666666666666666
