Answer:

Explanation:

x5-p²x³+2x+p+1

Given (x +p) is a factor of p(x), hence f(-p) = 0

Put x = -p in p(x)

f(-p)=   -p^5+p^2*-p^3-2p+p+1=0

     =     0-p+1=0

p=1

By factor theoram,

p(-p)=0

so, (-p)^5-p^2(-p)^3+2(-p)+p+1=0

= -2p+p+1=0

= -p=-1

so, p=1.
