now,
${x}^{2} + {y}^{2} = ({ \sqrt{3} }^{2} + { \sqrt{2} }^{2} - { \sqrt{2} }^{2}) +( { \sqrt{3} }^{2} - { \sqrt{2} }^{2} + { \sqrt{2} }^{2} )$
${x}^{2} + {y}^{2} = (3 + 2 - 2) + (3 - 2 + 2)$
$= 3 + ( - 1)$
$= 3 - 1 \\ = 2$
