if X square + 1 upon x square equal to 27 find x minus one upon x

x² + 1/x² = 27

x² + 1/x² - 2 = 27 - 2

x² + 1/x² - 2 × x × 1/x = 25

( x - 1/x )² = 5²

x - 1/x = ± 5
