Answer:

x²+(1/x²) = 51

We have it as

(x +(1/x))²-2=51

or, (x+(1/x))²=53,

or x+(1/x)= √53

2. (x-(1/x))²+2=51.

or , x-(1/x)= √49= 7 (taking just the positive value)

Adding 1 and 2,we have

2x=√53+ 7

=> x=(√53+ 7)/2. You may take the negative values as well . You will have four different answers jn total.
