x^2 -6x - 1=0

Use the quadratic formula, x = [-b +or- √(b^2-4ac)]/2a

Where a= 1, b = 6 and c = -1

x = [-(-6) +- √{(-6)^2 - 4×1×(-1)}]/2×1

x = (6+- 2√10)/2

or x = (6+2√10)/2= 3+√10

x = (6-2√10)/2 = 3-√10

You can do it further yourself as it would take lot of soace for calculation!!
