x = √6 + √5

1/x = 1/(√6+√5)

rationalise the denominator

1/x = √6-√5

we know

(x+ 1/x)² = x² + 1/x² + 2x.1/x

(√6 + √5 + √6 - √5)² = x² + 1/x² + 2

(√6)² = x² + 1/x² + 2

x² + 1/x² = 6 - 2

x² + 1/x² = 4
