ATQ:

x = 1/y

When we put the value of x in the EQ

1/y+y

1+y²/y = 0

1+y² = 0

y = √1

y = 1--------------------------(2)

∴ Value of x=1/1

x = 1-------------------(1)

From 1 and 2

x = y-----------------------------(3)

∴ Value of x+y is the smallest when x=y (From 3)
