If x varies inversely as y and y = 60 n x= 1.5. Find x when y= 4.5.

let , x = k / y

where, k is proportional constant ,

when , x = 1.5 , y = 60

1.5 = k / 60

k = 1.5 × 60 = 90

put value of ' k ' in eq.(1) , now the equation is ,

x = 90 / y

find ' x ' when ,y = 4.5

x = 90 / 4.5

x = 20

hence , x = 20 when y = 4.5
