so, X is directly proportional to Y

which means if we increase X, Y will also increase

i.e. X= k(Y) where k is the constant of proportionality

now XY if X decrease Y and if X increase Y increase

let's say if x= 5,y=15 (i.e. 3x) now xy=75 now if x=3,y=9 so xy=27 if x=10,y=30 so xy=300

In each case XY changes so the product of X & Y is not constant
