Hi ,

x , x + 2 , x + 6 are three consecutive

terms in G. P

Therefore ,

( x + 2 )² = x ( x + 6 )

x² + 4x + 4 = x² + 6x

4 = 6x - 4x

4 = 2x

2 = x

x = 2

I hope this helps you.

(x+2)/x=(x+6)/(x+2)
(x+2)^2=x(x+6)
x^2+4+4x=x^2+6x
6x-4x=4
2x=4
x=2
