Answer:

x+x+y=230

add this 2x+y=230

y-x=5

subtract both the equation then you will get x=75 then put this value in equation y-x=5 then you find the answer y=80

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi,

x + x + y = 230

2x + y = 230 ----------(1)

y - x = 5 ----------(2)

From equation (2) we get ,

y - x = 5

y = ( 5 + x ) --------(3)

Putting the value of Y in equation (1) , we get

2x + y = 230

2x + 5 + x = 230

3x + 5 = 230

3x = 230 - 5

3x = 245

x = 245/3

x = 81.66

Putting the Value of x in equation (3) , wd get

y = 5 + x = 5 + 81.66 = 86.66

Hence ,

X = 81.66 and Y = 86.66
