Since given X: Y = 1 : 2

So put X = 1 and Y = 2 in the equation

(2x+3y)/(X+4y) so we get (2*1+3*2)/(1+4*2) = 8/9

STEP 2 :

You can crosses multiply and then do 2X = Y

Then X = Y/2 then put the value of X in the equation (2*Y/2+3Y)/(Y/2+4Y) = 8Y/9Y = 8/9
