Take the equation,

x²+y²=68

[[apply the rule "a²+b²= (a+b)²- 2ab]]

→ (x+y)² -2xy=68

→ 10² -2xy =68 [ put the value of x+y=10 ]

→ 100 -2xy = 68

→ -2xy = 68-100

→ -2xy = -32

→ xy = 16
