Answer:

Property used =

(x+y)² = x² + 2xy + y²

Now putting the value

(10)² = x² + 2 (10) + y²

100 = x² + 20 + y²

100 - 20 = x² + y²

80 = x² + y²

Answer:

given \: that \:  \:  \: (x + y) = 10 \\(  xy = 10) \\ \\  to \: find \: (x2 + y2) = what \\  \\   we \: know \: that \: (a + b)2 = (a2 + b2 + 2ab)  \\ \\ now \:  \\ (x + y)2 = (x2 + y2 + 2xy) \\ (10)2 = (x2 + y2 + 2 \times 10) \\ 100 = (x2 + y2) + 20 \\ (x2 + y2) = (100 - 20) \\ (x2 + y2) = 80

hence value of (x2+y2)=80
