\huge \bf \underline{ \underline{Question}}

if x + y = 10 and xy = 3 , then x^2 + y^2

\huge \bf \underline{ \underline{Answer}}

 =  {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  \\  =  {(x + y)}^{2}  - 2xy

(using identity a²+b² = (a+b)² - 2ab)

Putting the values,

 =  {(10)}^{2}  - 2(3) \\  = 100 - 6 \\  = 94

\mathtt{Therefore, x^2 + y^2 = 94}
