x-y=2............(2)

Add (1) and (2)

You will get 2x=14

x=14÷2

x=7

Now, subtract (1) and (2).

You will get 2y=10

y=10÷2

y=5.

Now, we substitute the values of x and y in xy/2:

5×7/2

=35/2

=17.5
