Solution:

We are given with,

→ x + y = 14 – (i) and,

→ x - y = 2 – (ii)

We have to find out the values of x and y.

So, If we add both the equations, we get,

→ 2x = 16

→ x = 16/2

→ x = 8

Substituting the value of x in (i), we get,

→ 8 + y = 14

→ y = 14 - 8

→ y = 6

So,

  • x = 8 and,
  • y = 6

Answer:

 \begin{cases} \tt x = 8 \\ \tt y = 6 \end{cases}
