X +y =14 _____________1 equation
X-y=4__________________2
equation
So
From equation 1
X+y=14
X=14-y
Putting the value of x in equation 2.
So
14-y-y=4
14-2y=4
14-4-2y=0
10-2y=0
2y=10
Y=10/5
Y=5
So
Put the value of y in 1equation
X+y=14
X+5=14
X=14-5
X=9
