Step-by-step explanation:

x+y = 15

square in both sides

(x+y)^2 = (15) ^2

(x + y) {}^{2} = \ {x}^{2} + {y}^{2} + 2xy

x2+ y2+ 2xy= 225

x2+ y2+ 2× 17 = 225 (Xy =17 given)

x2+ y2+34 = 225

x2+ y2 = 225-34

x2+y2 = 191
