We know that,

 {(x + y)}^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  + 2xy \\  →(15)^{2}  =  {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  +2(16) \\ →225 =  {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  + 32 \\ → {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  = 225 - 32 \\ → {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2}  = 193
