ANSWER

If x:y = 3:4 then

on solving

x/y=3/4

i.e x=(3/4)y______EQ^N(1)

to find the ratio of [7x -4y] : [3x + y] .

[7x -4y] : [3x + y]

=(21y-16y)/(9y+4y) ((ON SUBSTITUTING VALUE FROM EQUATION 1))

=5Y/13Y

=5:13
