(x+y)²=x²+y²+2xy

(3)²=x²+y²+2×2

9=x²+y²+4

x²+y²=5

(x-y)²=x²+y²-2xy

(x-y)²=5-2×2

(x-y)²=5-4=1

x - y =  \sqrt{1}

x-y=1
