Solution

Given

  • x + y = 30 ___________(1)
  • x + 2y = 40__________(2)

Find

  • Value of x & y

Explanation

By Elimination Method

Subtract equ(1) & equ(2)

==> y - 2y = 30 - 40

==> -y = -10

==> y = 10

Now, Keep Value Of y in equ(1)

==> x + 10 = 30

==> x = 30 - 10

==> x = 20

Hence

  • Value of x = 20
  • Value of y = 10

Step-by-step explanation:

x-y=30

2x=70

x=85

85-y=30

y=85-30

y=55and 40

so, x=85,y=50,40
