If x+y = 4 and xy= 2, find the value of x²+y²

Hi, please check the question. It seems to be wrong since...

xy = 2

And either of the two have to be 1 and the other 2.

But, 1² + 2² = 5

You may delete/report this answer if you like. I wouldn't mind. Please check the question again
