(x+y)^2=x^2+y^2+2xy...4^2=x^2+y^2+2*2.....x^2+y^2=16-4.....x^2+y^2=12

tanvi759: Oho!!!! Its x^2+y^2 nt (x+y)^2
Aryendra: What??
Aryendra: What do I have to find???
Aryendra: Your question states x^2+y^2

(x+y)² = x² + y² + 2xy
(4)² = x² + y² + 2(2)
16 = x² + y² + 4
x² + y²  = 16 - 4 = 12
