if x+y = 5,xy = 6, find x-y also find x^2+y^2

x+y=5

xy=6

(x+y)^2=(5)^2

=> (x-y)^2+4xy=25

=> (x-y)^2=25-4xy

=> (x-y)^2=25-4.6

=> (x-y)^2=25-24

=> (x-y)^2=1

=> x-y=√1=1

so (x-y)=1

x^2+y^2

=(x+y)^2-2xy

=(5)^2-2.6

=25-12

=13
