If x + y = 6 and x - y , find
(i) x2 + y2
(ii) xy.​

ANSWER:-

x+y=6 (1)

x-y=4 (2)

After eliminating

We get 2x=10

X=5

Putting value of x in eq (1)

We get y=1

Then(i) x²+y²=(5)²+(1)²

=25+1=26

ii)xy=5*1=5

then by solvng it we get,

2x=10

so,

x=5

then put this value in one of the above equation. ..

5+y=6

so,

y=1

then ....,,,

1. x^2+y^2

= 5^2+1^2

= 25+1

=26

2. xy

= 5×1

= 5
