Sol:-
Given Equations :-
x + y = 6 …… ( 1 )
x – y = 4 …… ( 2 )
From eq 2
x = 4 + y …… ( 3 )
now sub eq 3 in eq 1
then
4 + y + y = 6
2y = 6 – 4
2y = 2
y = 1
now sub y = 1 in eq 3
then
x = 4 + 1
x = 5
then
x² + y² = (5)² + (1)² = 25+1 = 26
Hence, the value of x² + y² is 26
