If x + y = 65and x - y = 35 then find the value of x and y.

2×Eqn(2)−3×Eqn(1) we get

6x+8y−6x−3y=130−105

⇒5y=25 or y=525=5

Substitute y=5 in (1) we get

2x+5=35⇒2x=35−5=30

or x=230=15

∴x=15,y=5
