If x+y=7 & x-y=3 then find the value of x

on adding them we get:-2x=10
hence, x=10/5
x=5

Given equations,

x+y=7 ............(1)
and
x-y=3..........(2)

On adding (1) and (2), we get

2x =10
==> x = 5
