FIND:

value of xy

Now ,

x + y = 8

square both side

(x + y) {}^{2} =  {8}^{2}

 {x}^{2} +  {y}^{2} + 2xy = 64  ....(1)

value \: of \:  {x}^{2}  +  {y}^{2} = 36  \\  \: put \: in \: equation \: (i)

36 + 2xy = 64

2xy = 64 - 36

2xy = 28

xy = 28/2

xy = 14
