Answer:

answer is 68

Step-by-step explanation:

x + y = 8 ----- (1)

x - y = 2 ------(2)

from eq. (1)

    x = 8 - y

putting this value of x in eq. (2) , we get

  (8 - y) - y = 2

⇒ 8 - y - y = 2

⇒ 8 - 2y = 2

⇒  -2y = 2 - 8

⇒  -2y = -6

⇒   y = - 6 / -2

⇒  y = 3

now, putting this value of y in eq. (1) , we get

 x + 3 = 8

⇒ x = 8 - 3

⇒  x = 5

now,

  2x² +2y²

= 2(5)² + 2 (3)²

=  50  +  18

=  68 ____________ Ans.

hope this helped.
