If x+y = 8 and x-y = 6 then find x and y​

x + y = 8 equation (I)

x - y = 6 equation (II)

let's subtract equation (II) from (I)

x + y = 8

- x - y = 6

2y = 2

y = 2/2

y = 1

Now place the value y = 1 in equation (I)

x + y = 8

x + 1 = 8

x = 8 - 1

x = 7

Therefore the value (x, y) is (7,1).
