The Identity to be Used Here is...
(x+y)^2 = x^2 + y^2 + 2xy
Now putting the values we get that...
x^2 + y^2 = (x+y)^2 - 2xy
= 8×8 - 2×15
= 64-30 = 34
(x+y)^2 = x^2 + y^2 + 2xy
Now putting the values we get that...
x^2 + y^2 = (x+y)^2 - 2xy
= 8×8 - 2×15
= 64-30 = 34
