If (x+ y) is more than (x − y) by 40% of (x – y), then how much percent of y is x?

Answer:

50 % of(x-y)=30 % of (x+y)

or. 50/100×(x-y)=30/100×(x+y)

or. 5×(x-y)=3×(x+y)

or. 5x-5y=3x+3y

or. 2x=8y. or. x=4y …………..(1)

Let. p % of x= y

or. (p/100)×x=y

or. p = (100×y)/x. , putting x=4y from eqn. (1)

or. p=(100×y)/4y = 25 %.
