according to given condition

(x+y) = (x-y) + 40/100 ( x-y)

(x+y) = [ 100(x-y) + 40(x-y) ] / 100

100(x+y) =100(x-y) + 40(x-y)

100(x+y) = (x-y) (100+40)

100(x+y) = 140(x-y)

100x + 100y = 140x -140y

140x -100x = 100y + 140y

40x = 240y

x = 6y
